HOUSTON: On Sunday, July 13, Al Saif Youth held their 4th Annual Youth Iftaar for the Muslim youth in Houston.

The event was a huge success with council member Richard Nguyen and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee presenting Shabu (Zeenat) Boghani, Founder and CEO of Al Saif Youth, with a certification of appreciation. Other important political dignitaries in attendance included Congressman Al Green, Council Member Richard Nguyen, Consul General of Indonesia, Isman Pasha, President of MACC and Event Co-Chair  Rahman Moton and Tax Collector, Mike Sullivan who represented Judge Ed Emmett.

The auspicious event began with beautiful recitations of the Holy Quran followed by English translations making it easier for the youth to understand the words. Following, were the spectacular performances of Hamd, Naats, Salaam and Dua. Despite the hall being filled with a crowd of nearly 500 people there was silence as everyone attentively listened to the religious hymns. A special video of Al Saif Youth volunteers spreading the message that nobody should be judged based on appearances and that only god can judge was also shown. Lastly, the event also had an Art Competition, showcasing beautiful artwork submitted by the youth.

Al Saif Youth’s Shabu (Zeenat) Boghani would like to thank the people behind the succes of the event,  including countless supporters and her team of volunteers, and all the parents. Without their support this event would not have been successful. In addition, Rahman Moton was appreciated for his help and support.
