Soulful and Melodious Nights with Adnan Sami

HOUSTON: After a successful sold out show back in March and April 2013, the host Rehan Siddiqi yet again came up with another edition of the Adnan Live in Concert. The event was all about the man who made a big difference by giving up on 330 pounds but he still continues to scintillate many with his soulful and melodious voice. He is none other than Adnan Sami, the voice behind many touching Bollywood numbers we listen to. The Adnan Sami Live in Concert happened to be another big success organized at Houston’s Southwest Arena Theatre last Saturday, March 28. The chosen venue, Arena Theatre is one of Houston’s oldest and most successful concert venues. The reason behind it being chosen as the venue for the event was because of its unique design and the revolving stage the theatre provides guests with an intimate evening with their favorite entertainer.

It was all set to kickoff the event and so did Samia Adil the emcee for the evening. Samia Adil first introduced Rehan Siddiqi, the organizer of the event to invite the superstar of the evening Adnan Sami. With a round of applause Adnan Sami was welcomed to the center stage and he looked in a great shape, fit and healthier after his weight loss. Once Adnan took the center stage there was less of talking while he began to sing “Teri aankhen garam masala” from the movie Garam Masala which happened to be his first peppy number for the evening. While it was just the beginning Adnan continued singing his several hit songs one after the other. After Garam Masala it was time for some “Oyela Oyela” a very popular song from the movie Ajnabee followed by “Dil Keh Raha Hai Dil Se,” “Kabhi To Nazar Milao” and “Pyaar Hota Nahi Sabhi Ke Liye.” After all these songs came time for the most heard and favorite song of the crowd which was a soulful number “Noor-e-Khuda” from the movie My Name is Khan. After some singing it was time to run the fastest fingers to play keyboard. Yes, Adnan is the man who is also known as the fastest keyboard player, which adds on to his singing skills. It was all set for Adnan to play keyboard and showcase his brilliance with his fingers for the audience gathered at the Arena Theatre. After a scintillating performance on keyboard it was time for a little break while Adnan stepped backstage.

This was not it for the evening as there was much more to come from the musical sensation Adnan Sami. Meanwhile, to entertain and captivate the audience there was a belly dance performance that was organized which did not allow the wait for Adnan Sami elongate. Once the dance performance was over, the host of the event Rehan Siddiqi introduced all the sponsors and media partners who helped him make this event a big success. He also called upon the new Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal, who has been allowed to keep his beard and turban and other articles prescribed by his Sikh faith, the department’s new policy of accommodating to the religious tenets of the Sikh faith. Then Harris County Sherriff Adrian Garcia was called on stage along with Adnan Sami and he personally pinned a badge on his shirt and appointed him the new sheriff of Houston.
The show was well put together and Arif Memon and his team at DMMS did the production and technical management of the show. To conclude the evening with a melodious and soulful memories Adnan then took over the stage and sang few of his major hits like “Tera Chehra Jab Nazar Aaye” and ended the evening with his very popular and soul lifting song “ Lift Karade ”.
Since the first show happened to be a sold out event with more people demanding to see the show, Rehan organized another show, on April 2, Thursday.
