Indo American Forum Celebrates 4th of July

SUGAR LAND: On a beautiful sunny day, IAF members once again participated in the 4th of July celebrations held by the City of Sugar Land. This year’s Independence Day witnessed a record turnout at the scenic Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land of all sections of the community. Different events included participation by Indo Americans in many of the dances held to celebrate diversity and different cultures in Sugar Land.
Indo American Forum (IAF) as always distributed free cold water to visitors and participants at the different events. Distinguished visitors stopping by the IAF booth were Hon. Mayor of Sugar Land, James “ Jimmy” Thompson and his wife Gay Thompson, City of Sugar Land, Council member Don Olson and District 22 candidate Mr. Pete Olson. Mr. Jim Kij, newly elected President of Exchange Club congratulated IAF and the wonderful role IAF is playing in Fort Bend County and expressed interest in working closely with IAF on future projects to make a positive difference in Fort Bend County.
Harvinder Arora, Himesh Gandhi, K. C. Mehta, Naren and Hansa Patel and Sunil Sharma were in attendance at the IAF booth, and welcomed the dignitaries and 4th of July celebration attendees.
The evening fireworks were just fabulous and it appears they keep getting better every year. Young and old were fascinated and thrilled by the elaborate fireworks lasting nearly 20 minutes. As always, Indo American Forum positively represented pride of our community at this wonderful celebration.
