AIM for Seva is Proud to Bring Rukmini Vijayakumar of “NAYANI” to Houston….Again

HOUSTON: Aim for Seva is at its annual fundraising.  And, Rukmini Vijayakumar (Rukku) and her troupe, who dazzled Houston’s crowd of some 900 last year, is helping ..Again.

Rukku is a ballet and bharatnatyam dancer, model, and film actress.   An Honors graduate from the Boston Conservatory , she has performed in forums across the world. She recently received the Title of Arsha Kala Bhushan from Swami Dayananda Saraswati, and the Big Fm award for dancer of the year from Jaya TV. She is an empaneled ICCR artist, and NY Times described her as “A slender supple dancer, with burning eyes and authoritative form”
Rukmini has acted in full feature films “Bommalatham” in Telugu, “Bajarangi” in Kannada and her newest release “kochadaiyaan”, with Rajanikanth.

After enthralling Houston audience last year with “Nayani”, she is presenting “Prabhavati”, a classical dance drama. The story is adapted from the 16th century Telugu poem by Pingali Suranna. The eternal love story of an asura princess Prabhavati and Pradyumna, Lord Krishna’s son, has already received raving reviews in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Detroit.
