HOUSTON: Noureen Dhanani is a Houston based designer from Mumbai who creates one-of-a-kind sarees, designed to complement the wardrobe of the contemporary woman. She combines traditional and contemporary elements to create pieces that are classic and timeless, yet subtly modern. Because of the variations she uses in her choice of textiles, each piece is completely different from the others. Each piece by the designer is individually designed and hand crafted in Mumbai, with extreme attention to detail.

The designer does not believe in mass production and repeating designs, therefore chooses to sell only a limited collection of sarees. At the end of this month, Noureen will be showcasing her collection on the ramp at the International Fashion Festival in Toronto. In the near future, she plans on opening her retail studio in the Houston/ Sugar Land area but currently retails via exhibitions under the AURA – Design Studio brand where she collaborates with other vendors of designer product lines.
Her most recent exhibition took place, last Sunday, May 5, at the Hilton Houston Post Oak where she exhibited part of her Summer 2013 Collection. She will showcase the rest of the collection at her next exhibition which will take place on Sunday, June 2 in Sugar Land.
