Celebrate Bathukamma Festival on Oct. 17 at Ashtalakshmi Temple

TAGH 1in

HOUSTON: Telangana Association of Greater Houston (TAGH) Bathukamma committee is organizing this year’s celebrations on October 17, at 6 pm at Sri Ashtalakshmi temple. The TAGH, a USA registered non-profit organization, was formed last year by the Telangana Non Resident Indians in greater Houston Area, to preserve the cultural identity and contribute to its development. The organizing committee is bringing all Houstonians together to make this year’s event a grand success. Large scale plans are being made to welcome families to come together for the “flowerful” festival of Dassera and to pray to Goddess Gauri, the life giver, for societal prosperity and good wishes. This is a FREE outdoor event with lively music and dance.  The organizers have made extensive plans to provide FREE parking and FREE dinner (Mahaprasadam).  Every family will receive a FREE gift for preparing and bringing Bathukamma to the temple.  Professional photographers will also be taking a FREE family portrait with Bathukamma. The temple will provide an ideal venue to share the joy and celebrations with friends and families. Last year over 1,200 people enjoyed the festivities and this year the organizers are expecting record crowds to share, enjoy, and celebrate life with blessings of Goddess Gauri.
