Deepika to play Padmavati in SLB’s next?
Looks like Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are all set to hit a hatrick soon…because there’s gossip doing the rounds that the gorgeous actress is set to play Padmavati in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next movie based on Rani Padmani.
A leading site has stated that the actress has been roped into play the titular role in the magnum opus, following much speculation.
The site further stated that her rumoured current beau and another SLB favorite Ranveer Singh might play Allaudin Khilji, while Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal might step in as Padmini’s husband, Rana Ratan Singh.
Deepika might be busy with the final schedule of her Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, but she is apparently going to begin shooting for this epic love story in September.
The story is said to based on Padmavat, where Rani Padmini’s enticing beauty makes Allaudin Khilji luster after her. In the ensuing battle, her husband loses his life, while she self-immolates herself to escape the clutches of Khilhji.
