Justice Demanded for Indian American Teen Bombing Suspect

More than 300 people gathered outside the New Jersey State Capitol May 14 to demand fair treatment for Aakash Dalal, a former Rutgers State University student who has been held in solitary confinement for more than two years, for his alleged involvement in a series of bombings at four New Jersey synagogues.

The protesters urged New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to intervene with Bergen County, New Jersey prosecutors to set a trial date for the 19-year-old Indian American, who has spent every day since his arrest locked up in a solitary 8 x 6 cell, with rare moments of contact with others. He is being held on $4 million bail for allegedly conspiring with co-suspect Anthony Graziano for building and throwing four Molotov cocktail bombs at Jewish synagogues, from December 2011 to January 2012….
