MK 1in

MANVEL: Global Organization for Divinity and Houston Namadwaar will conduct their annual grand celebration of bhakti and Bhagavata Dharma, from December 19 to 27 this year through a 7-day “Madhura Utsav” (sweet celebration). The Utsav will be filled with celebration of Bhagavan through song, dance and listening to His stories through a 7-day “Srimad Bhagavata Katha” discourse series (in English) by Sri Ramanujamji, disciple of His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji.

Daily daytime Utsav events will be held at Namadwaar Prayer House located at 3642 Bailey Ave, Manvel TX 77578, while the evening Bhagavatam discourse and children’s cultural programs will be held at Huong Lam Buddhist Temple at 4203 CR 89 (Old Chocolate Bayou Road), Manvel TX 77578.

This year’s celebration is special as it is the first Utsav for the Sri Radha-Sri Krishna yugala utsava murthis who have recently arrived here from India, sent specially for Houston Namadwaar by HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji. This year too, as in the past years, this annual event will attract over 100 out-of-town attendees to the Houston/Pearland area from different parts of the country.

Daily events through the day (at Namadwaar) include chanting Tiruppavai (6 am), complete Srimad Bhagavata Moola Parayana of 18000 slokas in 7 days (6:30am-10am and 1-3pm), Ashtapadi kirtan-Sampradaya bhajans with Sri Jayadeva’s Gita Govindam (10 am) and Procession of Sri Krishna-Sri Radha in different vahanas (11 am) on most days. On some days, Divya Nama Sankirtanam (as performed by bhagavathars in India) will be performed at 9:30pm.

A highlight of the Utsav will be a grand Radha Kalyanam (Radha-Madhav Vivah) that will be held in bhagavata dharma style (with the singing of Ashtapadis and kirtans) on Saturday Dec 26th morning. Other special events include Krishna Jananam and Nandotsavam (Dec 19th, 9 pm), Govinda Pattabhishekham and Anna Koototsav (Dec 22nd, 9 am) and a special Nikunjotsavam program on Dec 24th.

The evening program (Dec 19-26) will begin from 5:30 pm at Huong Lam Buddhist Temple with children’s cultural presentations, Hari Kathas and concerts. This cultural segment will be followed by the highlight discourse event.

Sri Ramanujam ji, who has visited the Houston area several times before, is an excellent speaker who has absorbed the intricate essence of our scriptures directly from his Master. His insightful discourses throw beautiful, meaningful, practical light on the subtle aspects of bhakti and our Sanatana Dharma. His discourses on Srimad Bhagavatam are brilliant and instill in us love for Bhagavan, love for the path of bhakti and love for this great Purana itself. All the listeners will feel inspired and refreshed after listening to his discourses

Everyone is welcome to participate in this unique celebration. All events are free and open to the public. Breakfast, lunch and dinner mahaprasad will be served on all the days.

Prasadam and flower sponsors are welcomed for this auspicious event. If you find this divine cause worthy of your generosity, please call 281-402-6585.
