Weddings. A time to celebrate love with family and friends.  From the elegant decor to the stunning bride, weddings have always been a passion of mine.

Which is why I’ve decided to be a part of Perfect Muslim Wedding.  After planning my own wedding I’ve noticed the lack of resources that cater to the American-Muslim culture.

Although many believe there are enough wedding sites that fill this void, there is still a lack of sites that pertain to this niche.

There are the mainstream sites like The Knot, The Wedding Channel and Bride magazines. Then there are the niche sites like Maharani Weddings and South Asian Bride Magazine who cater to the “desi” audience, but I am Arab-American and Muslim.

When I got married last year, we found out about vendors purely through word of mouth. Much later and by chance I came across  www.perfectmuslimwedding.com. Perfect Muslim Wedding, a wedding planning resource. It contains a blog with all types of ideas, insights, and tools to help manage your budget and plan the wedding. As the current blog editor, I have learned a lot and love what I do.

Perfect Muslim Wedding is eco-friendly and stylish, from haute couture to bohemian. We want the style, but also want our wallets to remain intact.

Vendors can be of any faith, but there has to be a willingness to accommodate the needs of the American-Muslim culture.  For example, for my wedding, I had requested female staff at the venue because I wear the head covering (hijab) and also, a female DJ.

Although we started the site with a U.S. perspective we have added vendors in Canada, U.K., and Australia, with free listings.

Besides the website and blog, Perfect Muslim Wedding has a presence on all the major Social media channels including www.facebook.com/PerfectMuslimWedding, Facebook,  https://twitter.com/prmuslimwedding, Twitter,  www.pinterest.com/muslimwedding/Pinterest and http://instagram.com/perfectmuslimweddingInstagram.

We conducted a first ever www.perfectmuslimwedding.com/about/muslim-wedding-survey-presentation/ Muslim Wedding Survey which revealed what color brides preferred to wear to how the bride and groom met . We published a  http://www.perfectmuslimwedding.com/about/muslim-wedding-guide/Muslim Wedding Guide and will be updating it every so often.

What’s next? We’re looking to feature Muslim weddings on www.perfectmuslimwedding.com/category/real-weddings/ real weddings category. We want to share their beautiful story complete with photos, lessons learned, vendors used, and advice.
