Rabbi Movie Review
Story: Rabbi (Furqan Merchant) is a naturally talented singer living in Jammu. There is nothing else he can do well in life besides sing. His father (Raghubir Yadav), a lowly peon in government service is perpetually angry with his son for paying so much attention to the arts. The fact that he is a conservative Muslim doesn’t help matters either. As Rabbi fights his father’s strict attitude, his cousin Aafia is the only one who sole support system. He falls in love with her, and, as is common practice in his community, wants to marry her. But his immediate goal is to go to Mumbai and become a singer. With all of this going on, tragedy strikes the young man’s family and it is found that his father doesn’t have much longer to live. In a weak moment, Rabbi does something foolish and ends up in a real mess, and life’s prospects now seem bleak for him.
