Rajkumar Hirani SCRAPS Sanjay Dutt’s Munnabhai Chale America!
But fans of Munnabhai franchise, there is no need to be disappointed!
Okay, so this is final. Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani who enthralled us with the entertaining Munnabhai series is definitely not going to make Munnabhai Chale America! Oh, what a disappointed this is. He had announced the film in 2010 but the film got stalled after Sanjay Dutt got arrested in 2013. We assumed that Hirani will start work on the third sequel to Munnabhaiseries after Sanjay is a free man on February 25. But alas! now that won’t happen.
Hirani, who is back to the big screen with R Madhavan’s Saala Khadoos, told an entertainment website that he has scrapped Munnabhai Chale America as he was not happy with the script. But, the silver lining is that he along with the renowned script writer Abhijat Joshi will star working on the new script. He said, “Munnabhai Chale America isn’t happening. We couldn’t develop a script for it further. We have scrapped it. We are working on a new script for the third part. Abhijat and I have few ideas. We have discussed it and hopefully we shall be ready with it.” About his plans for a fresh script for Munnabhai part 3 he reveals, “Yes. I have 3-4 subjects in mind. We shall develop it soon. For now we are working on Sanjay Dutt biopic. But Munnabhai third part will surely happen.”
