HOUSTON: Sewa International and VYASA organized a 10 day yoga camp from April 15 to 24  at 3 Houston area locations, simultaneously (Sugar Land, Katy & Cypress). The camp was specially designed for diabetic and pre diabetic people to help them manage and control diabetes with Yoga routine and holistic approach. With this, Sewa International, Houston has done 8 camps in Houston so far. SDM camps are being conducted all across the country with one currently going on in Phoenix also.

The camp ended with a perfectly inspiring and educational presentation by Shri Raghuramji about yoga being recognized universally as a science. He also told the participants how yoga has been banqueted across the world and has been established as a valuable practice. Raghuramji is a senior authority on Yoga and Indian scriptures. He is the founder of Yoga Bharati Movement since 2003.

“You are the litmus test of all things that will suit you, if by practicing yoga you are realizing the peaceful state of mind then it’s working for you!” said Raghuramji.

Participants also shared about the transformation the yoga camp brought in their lifestyle and in managing diabetes. They also shared their experiences about the noticeable changes in the sugar levels. The program concluded with the camp lead coordinator, Nikhil Jain, offering vote of thanks to all the participants, doctors (Dr Sudha Rajan, Dr Neeta Shukla, Dr Satyanarayan Chilukuri, Dr Sejal Desai), yoga therapists (Sarika Phalak, Meena Kankani, Parul Thanki, Minal & Hasita Kartick), SDM core organizing team (Vishwarup Nanjundappa, Arvind Thekdi, Vibhuti Shah, Anuja Deshpande, Naina Patel & Noopur Saptnekar), Location providers (Swasth Yoga Studio, Shri Krishna Vrundavana, Sri Govindaji Gaudiya Matha and Keshav Smruti) and to all the volunteers.
