STONEHAM: Vandana Tilak, LA Chapter Chair, Ayurveda practitioner and long-time supporter of Akshaya Patra has joined the 2015 Akshaya Patra USA Advisory Board. In this role, Tilak will continue her crucial work of spreading and growing awareness about the work of Akshaya Patra, and building on the organization’s expansion via new kitchens and the number of children served. Akshaya Patra runs one of the world’s largest school meal programs, serving 1.4 million children daily in 10 states in India. It’s goal is to serve 5 million children by the year 2020.

Commenting on her new role, Vandana Tilak stated, “It is an honor and a privilege to serve India’s children and I uphold it with the utmost love and caring”.  Vandana Tilak is the Chair of Akshaya Patra USA’s Los Angeles Chapter, which recently held two very successful events in October 2014 and January this year. The Chapter will continue to build on the momentum gained during the 2015 year, increasing awareness and raising funds for new kitchens in Gujarat, Karnataka and other States.
