Mumbai — The 5th Annual Ghanta Awards rocked at the J.W. Marriott. The show, hosted by INvision Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. etched the “wall of shame” Mar. 8 and was graced by Arshad Warsi and wife Maria Goretti, Shruti Seth, Archana Puran Singh and hubby Parmeet Sethi, Vikrant Massey, Mini Mathur, VJ Bani and Shweta Gulati. The ticketed show is back on public demand April 4 in Mumbai again.

Fun and puns ruled with choosing the worst of Hindi cinema with an online voting system. The audience got to vote in 14 categories and the online voting went on till the eve of the grand night.

Gagan Takyar, director of INvision said, “It is indeed our pleasure to host the grand Season 5 of the Ghanta Awards. As a property, we have evolved over the years in terms of our offering to the crème de la creme of the city. In Season 5, we are stepping up the ante to showcase the superlatives in creativity, showing the worst of the worst of Bollywood receiving the famously infamous Ghantas with a mesmerizing experience.”

The event was sold out and the humor completely and irreverently naughty, complete with liberal expletives in Hindi and English. However, the celebrities, winners or otherwise, were spared, unlike in the gross “Bakchod.” The only exceptions (that perhaps proved the rule!) that went below the belt included a song in which Prabhu Deva was said to look “like a beggar” and a reference to Farah Khan’s third child, with the two in a picture shown as “her only two good releases.”
