ICC ‘s 2014 Executive Committee
HOUSTON: India Culture Center (ICC) Houston held elections for its 2014 Executive Committee on January 26 at India House. The elections were monitored by the Election Committee comprising of Ashok Dhingra, Satish Jhingran and Ramesh Anand. The new Executive Committee which takes office on February 1, is lead by Chandrakant (Charlie) Patel as President, Harshad Patel as Vice President, Falguni Gandhi as Treasurer and Manisha Mehta as pro tem Secretary. Prakash Patel will be continuing as Past President in the Executive Committee for 2014. All the positions were filled in unanimously.
Charlie Patel has been a young, pleasant temperamental, energetic Director since 2010 who has been volunteering with ICC. He had been a silent and dedicated Director and has put lots of hours at various ICC events in the planning, background and logistics. He has always been stage and limelight shy. Originally a resident of Bhiwandi, Maharashtra; he has been in Houston for the last 14 years and runs a chain of successful Gift & card stores in Downtown Houston. He brings with him financial, business experience and is totally passionate about non-profit organizations. He has volunteered with other organizations in past like Gujarati Samaj of Houston and Hindus of Greater Houston and IHA. While accepting the premier position of ICC, he promised to work closely with the ICC Board, Trustees and the Partnering organizations. He spoke about enhancing ICC level and adding 2 more events during 2014 in addition to the ICC Signature events.
The present ICC Board of Directors at Large are Charlie Patel, Harshad Patel, Falguni Gandhi, Manisha Mehta, P V Patel, Col Raj Bhalla, Rajiv Bhavsar, Prasad Kalva, Sridhar Dadi, Nirmala Patel, Mahesh Wadhwa, Jasmeeta Singh, Hemant Patel, Nisha Mirani, Ajit Patel and Girish Naik.
