After Jazbaa, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to start shooting for Sarabjit biopic from December 1!
After Jazbaa, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to work on her next project. The film will be a biopic, based on the trials of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian national convicted of terrorism by Pakistani courts and later killed by his fellow prison inmates.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be playing Sarabjit’s sister, Dalbir Kaur, who went door to door, knocking for justice and getting her brother released, but to no avail! The film will be narrated through her eyes. Randeep Hooda will be essaying the role of her brother, the doomed Sarabjit.
The film is directed by Omung Kumar of Mary Kom fame.
On the occasion of his birthday yesterday, the director has announced that he will start shooting for the film from December 1 with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Punjab.
Previously, it was reported that Sonakshi Sinha would be playing Dalbir Kaur, before she got replaced by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. There were also reports that Amitabh Bachchan would be part of the film, though they never have been verified.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Jazbaa will release today. The film is directed by Sanjay Gupta, and also stars Irrfan Khan, Jackie Shroff and Shabana Azmi. She is also playing an important role in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
