‘Amar, Akbar, Anthony’ To Be Remade In Britain!
Manmohan Desai’s cult entertainer Amar Akbar Anthony, about three brothers, who get separated in childhood and are brought up by people from three different religions, will soon be remade in Britain by Atul Malhotra, known for making documentaries for the British television.
Actress Goldy Notay, who will be playing one of the female leads in the movie, confirmed the news and revealed that Malhotra is a big fan of the Bollywood blockbuster and that though she has not seen the film, she will make it a point to watch it soon, so as to get an idea about the film and the genre. The remake, which will be titled ‘Amar, Akbar & Tony’, is about three childhood friends and the lead characters will be a Sikh, a Muslim and a Christian. Interestingly, Shabana Azmi had played one of the female leads in the original film….
