HOUSTON: Councilman Harish Jajoo was honored at the 2013 Statesman of the Year Banquet hosted by Texas Asian Republican Club (TARC) on Wednesday 23 October at Kim Son Restaurant, 10603 Bellaire Blvd., Houston. Councilman Jajoo represents District 4 on Sugar Land’s City Council.  Now in his second term, Harish had rolled up his sleeves from early on and is actively working on projects that will continue to enhance District 4 and Sugar Land.  Harish is the consummate professional, dedicated family man and committed councilman.

After serving City of Houston and Public Works Department for 29 years, Harish retired in 2010 and is currently a consulting engineer. A Certified Floodplain Manager and Registered Professional Engineer, Jajoo understands what it takes to get things done for a municipality – be it infrastructure, inter-governmental agency coordination, city council considerations, stretching capital investment dollars or interacting with citizens to explain complex budgetary and technological issues.

A graduate of the University of Windsor, Jajoo did his post-graduate work in Environmental Engineering at the University of Houston. He is a graduate of Fort Bend Leadership and will join American Leadership Forum (ALF) as a fellow in class of 2014. He serves on several boards and committees including Sugar Land Development Corporation, Sugar Land 4B Corporation, Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 4 (TIRZ), Transportation Policy Council under H-GAC, Finance and Audit Committee to name a few.

A twenty-eight year resident of Sugar Land, Harish is married to Shashi Jajoo, Lab Manager at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital. Harish and Shashi have two sons who graduated from Clements High School. Rishi recently married to Zeba, is continuing his education in the PhD program at Harvard University. Sid is a University of Houston business school graduate and is currently working in Sugar Land.
