The arrival of winters is important for so many reasons; from annual cultural celebrations to various religious festivities, a lot happens during this time of the year in India. Navratri is one such Hindu festival that is celebrated with much fervor, especially in the northern parts of the country and devotees visit famous Durga temples in India. During this time, the more ardent ones observe a nine-day fast and pray to Maa Shakti (a form of Goddess Durga).
