Houston Habitat Receives Funding from Wallis State Bank
HOUSTON: A recent conversation with Asif Dakri , Vice Chairman and CEO at Wallis State Bank and Leela Krishnamurthy, Family Service Chairman for the Houston Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, resulted in a 5 year commitment to the communities Wallis Bank serves.
Leela talked about the mission of Habitat, and how they build affordable housing, both locally and globally, and Asif was intrigued. He believes in Wallis Bank giving back to the communities they serve and wanted to get involved. To support with Houston Habitat’s commitment to revitalize neighborhoods, Wallis Bank has committed $5,000 per year for the next 5 years. Along with their financial support, the bank employees have committed to volunteer in this area. “It is community leaders like Asif at Wallis State Bank that continue to help us – help hard working families throughout the Houston area become homeowners,” said Allison Hay, Executive Director of Houston Habitat for Humanity, “We are grateful for this new partnership!” The official check presentation was done at the Wallis State Bank offices in Houston last month.
