Indian American Diplomat to Join Hagel in India
Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Puneet Talwar will join Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel in India this week.

Washington D.C. – A top Indian American diplomat in charge of policymaking in the areas of international security, security assistance, military operations and defense will join Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel during his India visit later this week, the State Department said Aug. 5.
Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Puneet Talwar will travel to India with Hagel to attend the first cabinet-level defenxe talks between the two countries under the new Indian government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hagel is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi Aug. 7 and is expected to hold talks with his Indian counterpart, Arun Jaitley, Aug. 8. He is also likely to call on Modi, and meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval….
