PANAJI, INDIA: Exotic Goa, specially its capital Panaji, was transformed overnight with illuminated trees and glamorized peacocks to welcome the 45th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) from the 20 to the 30 of November, which was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Arun Jaitley.  The chief guest for the event was Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth was conferred with the Special Centenary Award for Indian film personality on the opening night.

Invited to this prestigious event was the delegation from the Indian Film Festival of Houston (IFFH) led by Sutapa Ghosh, Founder and Festival Director and Amey Prakash, President. They were accompanied by Atul Badwal and Parul Fernandes, board members of IFFH.  75 countries were represented in the festival in which over 140 movies were screened.

In preparation for the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Houston which will be held from March 3 to the 6, 2015, many meetings were held by director Sutapa Ghosh and Amey Prakash.  It was a hectic and fulfilling event for the IFFH delegation but proved to be extremely fruitful.

The Festival Director, Sutapa Ghosh announced that, starting next year, which is the 7th edition of IFFH, there will be a dedicated screening night at the Festival for a sister city of Houston.  For 2015, the sister city paired with IFFH will be Nice, France.
