Narendra Modi flags UK visa policy; Theresa May backs PM’s reform push, Make in India

NEW DELHI: Prime minister Narendra Modiin a meeting with his British counterpart Theresa May on Monday raised the issue of UK’s new visa policy and its negative impact on Indian working professionals wishing to visit the United Kingdom for short-term business.

“PM touched on UK’s visa policy. In particular, he said the new UK regulations could have negative impact on Indian working professionals wishing to visit UK for short-term business,” MEA spokespersonVikas Swarup informed following Modi-May meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 meet in Hangzhou, China, on Monday.

Prime minister Modi also said that GST will further boost trade and investment ties with the United Kingdom. The Indian PM underlined that even after BREXIT the UK remained as important a partner for India as before.
