Neerja: Sonam Kapoor’s transition from a girl-next-door to a HERO!
Sonam Kapoor‘s Neerja seems to be one of the most intriguing films of the year. While the trailer made us stand and clap for Sonam and the whole team, everyone is eager to watch the film as soon as possible. The makers have been releasing a few behind the scenes video and today they released one more. The latest video shows Sonam Kapoor’s journey, transitioning from a girl-next-door to a heroic Neerja Bhanot for the film.
The video starts with the producers – Atul Kasbekar and Shanti Sivaram Mani and director Ram Madhvani, making it clear that Sonam was the first choice and the film was envisioned with her in mind. Sonam graciously accepted the film and with Ram Madhvani’s vision and guidance she turned into a heroic lady. She accepted the process and was acting very real, she wasn’t acting as if she was in front of a camera, she acted as if she was the person and she was living the life of Neerja Bhanot. Sonam also credited all the people working on the sets that enabled her to play the part.
Neerja, based on the life of Pan Am air hostess who helped save numerous lives from terrorists on board a hijacked plane, is set to release on February 19. The film also stars Shabana Azmi and Shekar Ravijani.
