Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone hear, hear! Mastani’s descendant Nawab Ali Sahab shares the real story of Bajirao and Mastani’s romance!
The Peshwas of Maratha expressed their anger at Sanjay Leela Bhansali through a press conference on Friday saying that his film, Bajirao Mastani, is bringing disgrace to the long heritage of the royal family. Present at the event were the descendants of great warriors Bajirao and Mastani, who in a polite manner, shared their grievances with the media.
Even though the royal kin have written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the requests (as they say) have fallen on deaf ears.
“If the title is Bajirao Mastani, they could have shown in the trailer the real hardship of how Bajirao won over Mastani’s heart. They could have shown how Bajirao Peshwa went all the way to Chattarpur, Bundelkhand in Uttar Pradesh, helped them win the war and how the King of Chattarpur out of happiness and pride gave his most beautiful daughter Mastani to him to marry. What they have shown in the trailer is disrespectful to us,” he further added.
Elaborating the story Nawab Sahab shared that in those times when Mughals were ruling India, the ruler of Bundelkhand asked Bajirao I for his help. He went to fight the war and after he won it, he was offered the hand of Mastani for marriage.
Nawab Ali even raised issue of Deepika Padukone dancing on Deewani song that has been compared to Mughal-e-Azam. “Mastani was Krishna bhakt, she never sang or danced like that for Bajirao.”
