Rishi Jajoo – Zeba Wunderlich Wedding

SUGAR LAND: Rishi Jajoo, 29, a native of this city and the son of local City Councilman Harish Jajoo and his wife Shashi was married on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Zeba Wunderlich, also 29. Two weddings reflecting the Hindu and Baha’i faiths of the couple were conducted in front of family and friends. Zeba and her family hail from the region.
Both Rishi and Zeba have doctoral degrees in Systems Biology from Harvard University and intend to pursue research and teaching careers. They will continue to live in Cambridge, Massachusetts after the wedding.
A wedding reception for the friends and family of the Jajoos was held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Sugar Land Marriott Hotel in Town Center and 620 people attended, including all the Sugar Land City Council. Harish has been on the Council since 2011 and was re-elected in November for another two year term. Various Jajoo family members – all told about 40 people – from New York, Boston, Detroit, Canada, New Jersey, Calcutta and other parts of Texas attended the reception.
The bride’s father Eberhard came to this country from Germany as an infant and recently retired after 32 years as a VP at ATT. Her mother Shahla immigrated from Iran as a student and is a professor of Dietary Science at St. Montclair University, New Jersey. Zeba has one brother, Roland.
Rishi’s father Harish retired after 29 years as a civil engineer with the City of Houston and besides serving on the City Council is also a Principal at Isani Consultants. His mother Shashi is the manager of the Pathology lab at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Sugar Land. Rishi has one brother, Sid.
