Saifeena to redesign the Pataudi palace interiors?
The Pataudi Palace (also called Ibrahim Kothi) was leased out to a private hospitality chain, which ran it as a luxury hotel for several years. During that time, many Hollywood and Indian film units had visited it.
However, according to latest news, the palace will not double up as a hotel any more. Instead, sometime in the middle of February, the owners of the place — the Nawab of Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan and his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan — will redo portions of it, according to their personal tastes and also in keeping with the wishes of Saif’s amma, Sharmila Tagore.
Huge crowds had thronged the palace grounds on September 22, 2011, when the funeral procession of the earlier Nawab of Pataudi, cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan, left from there. And just ahead of Saifeena’s wedding on October 16, 2012, a certain portion of the 18th century, majestic edifice was given a facelift. Bookings for guests also stopped as one of the marriage ceremonies of the Bollywood superstars took place at the palace. Neither Saif nor Kareena were available for comment….
