Southern News Hosts Education Workshop

HOUSTON: The educational workshop sponsored by McDonald’s and Southern News Group was a grand success by getting over 1000 students along with their parents of different communities, event Co-chair Mr. Rahman Moton welcomed elected officials and all attendee.

On May 17, 2014 at Sharpstown International School-Houston, the educational workshop started with a Ribbon cutting ceremony by Al Green (Congressman), GeneWu (State Representative), Richard Nguyen (City Council member), Way Lee (CEO Southern News Group), Rahman Moton (President MACC & Co chair), Thuy M. Le-Thai (Principal of Sharpstown), and many other elected officials and several organizations in a grand way. More than a dozen of universities and colleges participated in the workshop to guide students and parents in finding the suitable colleges and universities. Congressman Al Green and elected officials honored the organizers by presenting them with a certificate.

The workshop continued by serving with the lunch. The attended students participated in a Raffle drawing and some grand prizes were gifted to the winners.
