Southwestern National Bank 17th Annual Scholarship Awards

HOUSTON: Southwestern National Bank has selected its 2022 Southwestern National Bank Scholars.  For the 17th consecutive year, five outstanding area high school seniors will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and two outstanding area high school seniors will be awarded $ 500 to support their respective college education.  Each scholar was selected based on their academic achievement, extra-curricular participation, community service and financial needs.

Southwestern National Bank has a long-standing history of service to local communities, and this fund helps support those who exhibit the same commitment. Applications were accepted from students in Houston, Austin, and Dallas areas.  Below is the 2022 SWNB $1,000 Scholars:

Katrina Machetta – Klein Collins High School – University of Pennsylvania: Journalism

Christine Yuan – Clements High School – University of Texas at Austin: Computer Science and Business Honors

Amy Pasha – Langham Creek High School – University of Houston: Planned Major Field of Study

Karen Pan – Kerr High School – University of Texas at Austin: Business

Rachel Gai – The Awty International School – Emory University: Business

2022 SWNB $500 scholars are as follows:

Chung-Hwa Yen – Clements High School – University of Houston: Computer Science

Ethan Lu – Westside High School – Texas A&M: Managern in information systems

An award ceremony was held at the headquarters of Southwestern National Bank on 6/24/2022.  Chairwoman Jody Lee was present along with the family and friends of the scholarship recipients. (Member FDIC)
