HOUSTON: Star Promotions, famous for organizing concerts, held its first show of 2016 at the Arena Theatre on April 8.  And what an impressive way to start their shows for the year.  The celebrated and dynamic Rajender Singh who is the show promoter added another feather to his cap by organizing a memorable musical evening.  The performers were none less than the successful musical duo of Vishal-Shekhar and the graceful Neeti Mohan.

The evening began with Neeti Mohan’s performance.  From the time she began singing till the end she was a treat to the ears.  Neeti rendered several Bollywood numbers that kept the audience entertained.  She sang the famous Jiya Re from the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Pataka Guddi from Highway.  In a very impulsive gesture to create drama and excitement, Neeti asked the crowds to turn on the flash lights on their cell phones.  With a sea of lights effect she crooned Banke Titli from the blockbuster Bollywood film Chennai Express.  Neeti won over the audience by belting out numbers like Ishqwala Love, Har Kisiko Nahi Milta and Ghanti Big Ben one after the other.  Then Vishal joined her to sing a duet – Tune Mari Entry.  They decided to have a five minute break before Vishal-Shekhar’s performance could begin.

In one of the acts Vishal-Shekhar got kids on the stage for performing on the famous star studded song from the film Om Shanti Om.  It was very fascinating to see the act.  Throughout the event all three performers were very interactive with the audience and made sure everyone had a blast.  They went into the aisles and encouraged the crowds to sing along.  Such was the energy levels of the stars that the audience could feel the adrenaline rush in their veins.  The musicians accompanying them were excellent and complimenting.  It was truly an evening to remember and felt like Houston danced the night away.
