Vishal and Shekhar to Rock Houston on April 8
HOUSTON: Vishal–Shekhar is a music-directing duo consisting of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. The duo has worked in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi films. Vishal Dadlani is also the vocalist of Mumbai-based electronic band Pentagram. Shekhar Ravjiani is a trained classical singer (under Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan). He learned to play the accordion from his father, a music enthusiast, Hasmukh Ravjiani. Shekhar was a participant of Zee TV singing contest Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 1997. He composed and sung Marathi songs “Saazni” in 2012 and “Saavli” (with Sunidhi Chauhan) in 2013. They have composed music for super hits films like Jhankaar Beats, Dus, Bluffmaster, Om Shanti Om, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Dostana, Ra.One, Student of the Year, Chennai Express, Bang Bang! and Happy New Year. The duo is looking forward for a bang in 2016 by composing the music for much awaited Salman khan film Sultan.
Another talented singer Neeti Mohan will accompany them. She was one of the winners of the Channel V show Popstars and as such, became a member of the Indian pop group Aasma with the other winners of the show. Mohan made her singing debut in Bollywood in 2012, with “Ishq Wala Love” in Student of the Year opposite Shekhar Ravjiani and Salim Merchant.
They will perform in many cities across the United States, and will perform in Houston on Friday, April 8 at the Arena Theater. Rajender Singh of Star Promotions Inc., is the organizer of the show.
